We did it! We embarked after so many years of hoping we would, so much sweat, work, and hype built up through conversations with friends and family; so many huge life decisions that kept us on this path. It’s hard to narrow down the thoughts and feelings that accompany this huge moment in our lives. I think we are both a bit numb, shell-shocked by the enormous amount of work we accomplished in the few months leading up to our departure, and still overwhelmed by the tasks left undone.
Chronicling the journey to this point was on our to-do list, but it became lower priority and a victim of the triage necessary to get underway.
As our sabbatical begins, we plan to take a retrospective look at what it took to get us here and in the coming weeks we will share posts on our journey to this moment, as we continue to chronicle where we are.
